The Evaluation of Mental and Behavioral Disabilities of Children and Adolescents

Abstract
Many children and adolescents are injured in motor vehicle accidents(MVA) in Korea. Motor vehicle accidents are associated with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and many functional mental and/or behavioral problems, and rose the percentage of claims and complaints with a psychiatric component rapidly. Most of children and adolescents who experienced MVA(80-90%) had minor traumatic injuries, but they result in relatively high percentage of all claims.
In 2001, I suggested the new guideline based on McBride evaluation system for the mental and behavioral disabilities following MVA. During the study, we were short in experience and research data about psychiatric problems following MVA of children and adolescents. After the report I gathered the research data about that issues. This paper is supplement of 2001 report 'The guideline for evaluation of mental and behavioral disabilities following motor vehicle accidents'.
